Grocery POS software
Every basket has its own details.
Different pack sizes, loose goods and customer credit can make a grocery sale more involved than a single barcode. Explore SaleCue with a basket that reflects the way your store trades.
Packets, quantities and the customer behind the sale.
Start with what is on your shelves
01 / Start with your storePackaged products
Include products with similar names but different pack sizes. Confirm that a small packet and a larger packet are separate choices with the correct price and stock quantity.
Loose or weighed goods
If you sell rice, produce or other items by weight, include a decimal quantity and a price per unit. Ask to inspect the receipt calculation and remaining stock. Share the exact scale model and barcode format if you use a scale.
Customer credit
If you keep a khata or udhaar account, include a credit sale and a later payment in the demo. Verify the customer statement and remaining balance rather than judging the workflow from a dashboard alone.
A practical POS conversation
From supplier delivery to shelf count
Use a small example from your store to see which records and steps matter at each point.
Check a supplier delivery
Start with a small list of packet quantities and purchase costs. Compare the delivered units with the stock record. If you buy cartons and sell individual units, test that conversion explicitly.
Ring up a mixed basket
Try several packaged items, a product lookup and a quantity change. Add a weighed item only if the the demo covers your selling unit and calculation. Review line totals and the receipt before recording payment.
Complete a customer payment
For a shop that sells on account, record a sample credit transaction and collect part of the balance later. Check that the new payment reduces the balance once and appears in the customer history.
Review damaged and dated stock
Include a damaged packet and an item with a date on its packaging. Ask how each would be removed from sellable stock. If you need batch selection or expired-sale controls, request a specific demonstration before relying on them.
Check a small shelf count
Count a few lines after the sample sales and adjustments. Compare the physical quantity with the record and trace the difference. Finish by comparing the day’s sales with its payment records.
Give the grocery details room to matter
02 / Go into the detailUnits and rounding
Test the exact quantities you sell, including decimals and pack-to-unit conversions. Review the totals on screen and on the printed receipt.
Dates and batches
A date stored on a product record does not establish how batches are selected or whether an expired item can be sold. Include those actions in the demo if they are part of your requirements.
Your counter equipment
Share the scanner, scale and printer you intend to use. A representative basket helps you discuss product handling, equipment compatibility and the steps a cashier would follow.
Before your demo
Bring one representative grocery basket
Keep the sample manageable. Use fictional customer details and tell us about any equipment or specialist tasks that are essential to your store.
Your demo checklist
Prepare ten representative products: similar pack sizes, a multi-unit purchase if applicable, a return and a count discrepancy. Add two dated batches, one weighed item and a customer account only where those are part of your business.
Review the connected records
Use the barcode workflow, inventory checks and customer credit walkthrough to examine the records behind each transaction.
A few useful answers
Before you choose.
Your store’s needs should shape the conversation. Start with these common questions.
What if I sell loose goods by weight?
Share your selling unit, decimal quantities and scale model when you enquire. Ask to see a sale with your price-per-unit calculation and, if relevant, the barcode format your scale prints.
How should I assess dated stock?
If you need batch selection or a block on expired sales, include those requirements in your enquiry. Ask to see the full dated-stock workflow; a stored expiry date alone does not answer every question.
Can I discuss moving from a handwritten khata?
Yes. Bring a fictional credit sale, partial payment and opening balance example. Discuss the customer statement, corrections and how your existing balances would be checked before a move.
What about scanners, scales and receipt printers?
Send the exact models you intend to use. Discuss equipment compatibility and setup before choosing a subscription. A grocery demo should reflect both your products and your counter equipment.
Another store. Different details.

Bring the basket your store knows best.
Share your pack sizes, a customer-credit example and any scale requirements. We’ll use them to start the conversation.
