Your counter. Your stock. Your daily questions.
The questions behind a busy counter
01 / Start with your storeAt checkout
Can the cashier find the correct product, check the price and finish the sale with a receipt that matches the payment record?
On the shelf
After a delivery, sale or return, does the stock record explain the quantity you expect to have?
At closing
Can the owner trace the day’s totals back to transactions and investigate a difference?
A practical POS conversation
Follow the day, one transaction at a time
Use a small example from your store to see which records and steps matter at each point.
Receive a small delivery
Bring a sample supplier list with product names, quantities and costs. Ask to record the delivery, then compare the stock record with the items received. Include a short delivery so you can review how a discrepancy is handled.
Build a mixed basket
Try a barcode item and a product found by name. Check quantities, selling prices and an agreed discount. Pause the basket, resume it and complete the sale. Compare the receipt with the payment and stock records.
Record a customer balance
If your shop offers credit, demonstrate a sale to a named customer and a later partial payment. Review the remaining balance and transaction history before deciding how to use customer accounts.
Handle a return
Use one item from the earlier sale. Review the original transaction, the refund amount and whether the returned item goes back into sellable stock. A damaged item needs a different stock decision.
Review the day
Compare the sales report with the sample receipts and payments. Count selected products and inspect any difference. Ask who can change prices, process refunds or adjust stock.

Stock records
Explore receiving, counts and adjustment checks on the inventory management page.
Customer accounts and reporting
Review customer credit separately from sales reports, so a customer balance is not confused with money already collected.
Before your demo
Make the demo useful for your shop
Keep the sample manageable. Use fictional customer details and tell us about any equipment or specialist tasks that are essential to your store.
Bring useful examples
Choose five to ten products, one supplier delivery, a return and a customer balance example if you sell on credit. Use fictional customer details. Tell us which tasks the owner and cashier should be allowed to perform.
Equipment and subscription scope
Share your intended scanner and receipt printer models. Discuss compatibility, current subscription scope, outlet limits, setup charges and support terms before making a purchase decision.
A few useful answers
Before you choose.
Your store’s needs should shape the conversation. Start with these common questions.
What kind of shop is this page for?
Shops that sell stocked products, including mixed-product retail. Grocery and clothing stores have separate pages for units, pack sizes and size/colour choices. Tell us about any specialist requirements when you enquire.
How should I compare SaleCue with my current process?
Use the same delivery, basket, return and closing example in both. Compare the records and the steps your staff follow. That gives you a practical basis for choosing a POS.
Can I bring my existing product list?
Bring a small sample to the demo. Discuss product identifiers, opening quantities, customer balances and the migration work your shop would need. Ask what is included in your proposed subscription.
What should I know before subscribing?
Ask for the current subscription scope, setup costs, support arrangements and equipment requirements. Share any invoice or reporting needs so they can be included in the conversation.
